Position Overview
The Senior Field Coordinator is a key leadership role responsible for supporting the Executive Director in coordinating the field components of the regional EMS system. This position plays a vital role in organizing, planning, and implementing programs and initiatives that support the Council’s mission and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support regional EMS programs and projects
- Travel throughout the region to assist with continuing education initiatives
- Organize and facilitate meetings, trainings, and committee activities
- Serve as a liaison between EMS agencies, hospitals, and partner organizations
- Support compliance with medication regulations (BOP, DEA, FDA)
- Collaborate with medical directors on EMS protocol development
- Deliver instruction on EMS-related topics
- Build and maintain relationships with EMS providers, healthcare leaders, and government officials
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Current Paramedic certification with at least five (5) years of EMS experience
- Strong knowledge of EMS education program development and delivery
- Familiarity with disaster management, incident command, trauma triage, and OSHA regulations
- Ability to obtain Virginia OEMS Education Coordinator certification within 18 months
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with general computer systems
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and travel
